Summary
This study tested whether a new drug called VR-AD-1005 could help control severe diarrhea in cholera patients. Researchers compared the drug against a placebo in 150 adults with confirmed cholera to see if it reduced stool output and the need for IV fluids. If effective, this treatment could shorten hospital stays and reduce antibiotic use, helping fight antibiotic resistance.
