New drug tested to stop deadly cholera diarrhea
NCT ID NCT06193408
Summary
This study tested a new drug, VR-AD-1005, designed to reduce the severe, watery diarrhea caused by cholera. It involved 150 adults with confirmed, severe cholera and compared the drug's effects to a placebo. The main goal was to see if the drug could safely reduce stool output and the need for extra IV fluids, potentially offering a new way to manage the disease with less reliance on antibiotics.
