Gentle suction could help tiniest babies breathe easier

NCT ID NCT07271368

Summary

This study is testing a new method to help premature babies with breathing problems receive a special lung medicine called surfactant. Researchers want to see if using a gentle, continuous suction device on the baby's chest during the procedure makes it safer and helps the medicine spread better in the lungs. The study will involve about 25 premature infants to check if the approach is feasible and safe, and if it reduces common complications like drops in oxygen levels during treatment.
