New device mimics blood vessels to spot bleeding dangers

NCT ID NCT03773159

First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study is testing a new device that acts like a tiny blood vessel to measure how well a person's blood can stop bleeding. Researchers want to see if it can better identify bleeding risk in people with von Willebrand disease, platelet disorders, or those taking antiplatelet drugs. About 200 adults will give a small extra blood sample during a routine draw or blood donation.
