Early trial tests new 'Set-and-Forget' birth control shot

NCT ID NCT04143659

Summary

This is an early-stage study testing a new long-acting injectable contraceptive called Levonorgestrel Butanoate (LB). Researchers are giving healthy women different doses of the shot, either into a muscle or under the skin, to see how the body processes it and how well it prevents ovulation. The goal is to find a safe and effective dose that provides contraception for several months with a single injection.
