New antibiotic trial aims to heal dangerous diabetic foot infections
NCT ID NCT05369052
Summary
This study is comparing a new antibiotic treatment (contezolid) against an existing standard antibiotic (linezolid) for adults with moderate or severe diabetic foot infections. About 865 participants will receive either the new or standard treatment for 14 to 28 days to see which is more effective and safer. The goal is to clear the infection and heal the wound without needing further therapy.
