New antibiotic battle against dangerous foot infections

NCT ID NCT05369052

Summary

This study is testing whether a new antibiotic combination (contezolid) works as well as an existing antibiotic (linezolid) for treating moderate to severe diabetic foot infections. About 865 adults with these infections will receive either the new treatment or the standard one for 14-28 days. Researchers will compare how well each treatment clears the infection and monitor side effects.
