Doctors test safer way to breathe for kids under anesthesia
NCT ID NCT05279170
Summary
This study is testing a new, gentle technique to prevent air from entering children's stomachs while they are under anesthesia and breathing through a mask. Researchers will apply light pressure to the side of the neck in 72 children aged 2-10 during elective surgery. They will use ultrasound to see if this method safely stops stomach air buildup, which can reduce the risk of serious lung complications.
