Tamoxifen's hidden impact on immune cells under investigation

NCT ID NCT05056857

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study looks at how tamoxifen, a common breast cancer drug, affects certain immune cells called neutrophils. It focuses on a process where these cells produce web-like structures (NETs) that may cause side effects or influence the cancer. Researchers will measure NET levels in blood samples from 290 women with ER+ breast cancer who are taking tamoxifen. The goal is to understand if increased NETs are harmful, not to test a new treatment.
