New study peers inside the brain to uncover inflammation in dementia

Summary
This study looks at how inflammation in the brain affects people with frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD), a group of disorders that cause dementia. Researchers will use powerful MRI scans and tests on blood and spinal fluid to measure inflammation and brain changes. The goal is to better understand the disease and find markers that could help track its progression. About 110 adults with FTLD or genetic risk will take part, but no experimental treatment is given.
