Stretching secrets revealed: scientists measure nerve tension in real time

NCT ID NCT07304765

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looked at how two different nerve-stretching methods (flossing and tensioning) change the stiffness of the sciatic nerve and hamstring muscles in 21 healthy, active adults. Using a special ultrasound technique, researchers measured tissue stiffness right after stretching. The goal was to better understand how these techniques work, not to treat any disease.
