Balloon breakthrough: new device could supercharge cardiac arrest resuscitation

NCT ID NCT06793033

First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests a new balloon device, called NEURESCUE, that is placed in a leg artery and inflated to redirect blood to the heart and brain during cardiac arrest. The goal is to see if using this device along with standard CPR and life support helps more people regain a heartbeat or a shockable rhythm. About 84 adults with witnessed cardiac arrest and a non-shockable heart rhythm will take part.
