Spine surgery monitoring gets a potential upgrade
NCT ID NCT02192112
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tested a new method to monitor nerves during lower back surgery. Researchers wanted to see if they could stimulate nerves from the skin surface instead of inside the surgical site. 57 adults having lumbar spine surgery participated. The goal was to see if this approach was reliable and reproducible, not to treat the disease itself.
