First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This small study tests a device that gently stimulates a nerve in the ear (vagus nerve) in 20 adults with chronic kidney disease. The goal is to see if the device is safe, tolerable, and affects heart rate variability, which is linked to heart health. Results will help design a larger study to explore whether this approach could reduce heart-related deaths in kidney patients.
