First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tests whether combining a nerve block (numbing injection near the throat nerve) with a numbing spray can help people recover faster and with less pain after surgery for obstructive sleep apnea. The surgery, called palatoplasty, opens the airway but often causes significant throat pain. The study involves 80 adults with moderate to severe sleep apnea. Researchers will measure how quickly patients wake up from anesthesia and how much pain they feel.
