New nerve block could cut Kids' pain and hospital time after surgery

NCT ID NCT07279883

Summary

This study looks back at medical records to see if using a specific nerve block during cleft palate surgery helps children feel less pain after their operation. Researchers are comparing children who had surgery in 2017 (without the nerve block) to those in 2018 (with the nerve block). The main goal is to find out if the nerve block leads to less need for strong painkillers like morphine and allows children to go home from the hospital sooner.
