New heart procedure could ease symptoms of heart failure
NCT ID NCT07403058
First seen Feb 23, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This early-stage trial tests a catheter-based procedure that targets a nerve near the heart to see if it can safely improve symptoms in people with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). Up to 50 patients aged 40 or older will be randomly assigned to receive either the real treatment or a sham procedure, and neither they nor their heart doctor will know which they got. The main goals are to check safety and look for early signs of benefit, not to prove long-term effectiveness.
