New dressing may help heal surgical wounds in obese breast cancer patients

NCT ID NCT04003038

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a special vacuum dressing (negative pressure wound therapy) can help heal the belly incision better than standard bandages in obese women having breast reconstruction surgery. About 80 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the vacuum dressing or regular bandages. The goal is to see if the vacuum dressing reduces wound healing problems like opening of the incision.
