New bandage may cut infection risk after rectal cancer surgery

Summary
This study tests whether a special vacuum bandage (negative pressure therapy) can prevent wound infections after surgery to remove the rectum and anus. About 100 adults who had chemoradiation before surgery will take part. The goal is to see if this bandage helps the wound heal better and reduces infections.
