Neck workouts may soothe chronic jaw pain, new study suggests
NCT ID NCT03403998
First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looked at whether special neck exercises could help women with long-term jaw pain (temporomandibular disorders, or TMD). 113 women were split into two groups: one did neck motor control exercises for 8 weeks, and the other received a placebo treatment. The goal was to see if the exercises reduced pain, improved jaw function, and changed brain activity related to pain. Results will help doctors design better treatments for TMD.
