New laser technique aims to spot lung cancer faster during biopsy

NCT ID NCT05556525

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study compared a standard lung biopsy method (EBUS TBNA) with the same method plus a new laser imaging tool (nCLE) and a dye (fluorescein) to see if it could better diagnose lung cancer in people with small lung nodules. Only 3 people took part before the study was stopped early. The goal was to see if the new approach could provide a clear diagnosis on the first attempt.
