Summary
This study tested a new ventilator mode called NAVA, which uses the patient's own diaphragm signals to control breathing support. The goal was to see if it could reduce the number of days patients with COPD or other obstructive lung diseases need a breathing machine. Fifty adults took part, and researchers measured how many days they were alive and off the ventilator.
