Summary
This study looks at whether placing a tube through the nose into the stomach (nasogastric tube) helps adults with a small bowel blockage in the emergency department. Researchers will track pain, nausea, hospital stay length, and survival in 400 patients. They will also check if frailty in older adults affects recovery. The goal is to see if this common but painful treatment is truly useful.
