New balloon treatment aims to clear blocked sinuses
NCT ID NCT05883462
Summary
This early-stage study is testing a new device for people with recurrent chronic sinusitis, with or without nasal polyps. The device is a small balloon coated with a drug (paclitaxel) that is inflated in the nose. It aims to physically open blocked nasal passages and deliver medicine to the inflamed tissue to help keep them clear longer. Researchers will check if the treatment is safe and if it helps improve symptoms like congestion and loss of smell for at least six months.
