Can a breeze through the nose wake up a sedated brain?
NCT ID NCT06438302
Summary
This study is testing whether blowing humidified air through the nose can improve brain activity and lung function in sedated ICU patients who are on a breathing machine. Researchers will measure brain waves, oxygen levels, and lung performance while patients receive different rates of nasal airflow. The goal is to understand if this simple intervention could help protect brain function during critical illness.
