First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a new DNA sequencing technology (Nanopore) can better identify infections in broken bones compared to standard lab tests. Researchers will collect bone samples from 100 adults with fracture-related infections and compare the results from both methods. The goal is to see if the new approach gives faster and more accurate results, which could help doctors choose the right antibiotics sooner.
