First seen Feb 19, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This early-phase study tested a gel made from magnetite zinc oxide nanoparticles applied directly to oral precancerous lesions in 24 adults aged 25–60. The goal was to see if the gel could shrink the lesions or reduce their risk of turning into cancer. The approach uses nanoparticles that target abnormal cells while leaving healthy cells mostly unharmed.
