New nano drug aims to fight wasting in cervical cancer treatment

Summary
This study tests a new form of the drug megestrol acetate (nanocrystalline) to help cervical cancer patients avoid severe weight loss and muscle wasting during chemoradiotherapy. About 88 women with advanced cervical cancer will either receive the drug plus standard treatment or standard treatment alone. The goal is to see if the drug improves appetite, weight, and quality of life.
