New combo treatment aims to help people walk again after brain bleed

NCT ID NCT07471256

First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tests a new approach for people with a large brain bleed (lobar intracerebral hemorrhage). It combines a computer-guided, minimally invasive surgery to drain the clot with a clot-busting drug called tenecteplase. The goal is to see if this treatment helps more people recover the ability to walk independently within 6 months, compared to standard medical care alone. About 636 adults will take part across multiple hospitals.
