New glasses could curb rising myopia in kids

NCT ID NCT06816446

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests whether special spectacle lenses can slow the worsening of nearsightedness (myopia) in children aged 6 to 12. About 185 kids with mild to moderate myopia will wear either standard or special lenses for two years. The goal is to see if the special lenses reduce the need for stronger prescriptions and lower the risk of serious eye problems later in life.
