First seen Mar 10, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study tested whether measuring a protein called MxA in the blood can help doctors decide when to stop antiviral treatment in people with flu or COVID-19. 86 adults took part, and researchers compared those whose treatment was guided by MxA levels to those receiving standard care. The goal was to see if this approach could reduce the chance of symptoms returning and shorten the time on medication.
