Walk to the beat, ditch the pain: music may soothe sore knees
NCT ID NCT07537114
First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looks at whether walking to music or a metronome can help reduce pain and change how muscles work in people with chronic knee osteoarthritis. About 20 adults with knee pain will try three different walking conditions: with music, with a metronome, and without any sound. Researchers will measure pain sensitivity and muscle activity to see if rhythmic sounds make walking less painful.
