Tunes instead of drugs? music tested to cut surgery pain
NCT ID NCT06957990
Summary
This study is testing whether listening to music before or during hernia repair surgery can help reduce patients' pain afterward and lower their need for strong pain medications. Researchers are enrolling 308 adults having hernia surgery and randomly assigning them to listen to music at different times or not at all. The goal is to see if this simple, non-drug approach makes recovery more comfortable and reduces opioid painkiller use.
