Scientists put legs in casts to unlock secrets of aging muscles
NCT ID NCT04416191
Summary
This University of Utah study aims to understand how muscles recover after a period of inactivity, particularly in older adults. Researchers will enroll 45 healthy participants aged 18-35 and 60-85, who will have one leg immobilized for two weeks. The study measures muscle changes through biopsies, scans, and strength tests before, during, and after the immobilization period.
