Scientists study why muscles weaken with age after bed rest
NCT ID NCT04416191
Summary
This research study aims to understand how muscles recover after a period of inactivity, particularly comparing younger adults (18-35) and older adults (60-85). Participants will have one leg immobilized for two weeks, then undergo tests to measure muscle changes during recovery. The goal is to learn how aging affects muscle healing after disuse, which could inform future treatments.
