Can muscle oxygen predict how fast athletes recover?
NCT ID NCT07742163
First seen Aug 03, 2026 · Last updated Aug 04, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at how competitive male soccer players recover after doing eight 30-meter sprints with short jogs in between. Researchers measure muscle oxygen levels, heart rate variability, and jump performance before and after the sprints to see how the body bounces back. The goal is to understand the recovery process and whether these measures relate to sprint performance.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Repeated sprint exercise (8 x 30 m sprints with active recovery)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could help coaches and trainers design better recovery protocols for athletes after intense exercise.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small observational study in a specific group (young male soccer players), so findings may not apply to other athletes or sports.
