Anemia drug tested as potential muscle saver for dialysis patients

Summary
This study is testing whether an oral anemia medication called roxadustat can help prevent or treat muscle loss in people receiving kidney dialysis. Researchers will compare roxadustat against the standard injectable anemia treatment to see which one better improves muscle strength, mass, and physical function. The trial will enroll 60 dialysis patients who have both anemia and diagnosed muscle loss.
