Kidney Patients' hidden danger: can common anemia pill fight deadly muscle loss?

NCT ID NCT07162090

Summary

This study is testing whether a medication called roxadustat, currently used to treat anemia in kidney patients, can also help prevent or reduce muscle loss in people on dialysis. Researchers will compare roxadustat against standard anemia treatment in 60 dialysis patients who already have muscle weakness. The goal is to see if this existing drug might offer a dual benefit for this vulnerable group.
