New MRI technique could spare patients unnecessary surgery for salivary gland tumors

Summary

This study tests whether advanced MRI scans can accurately tell cancerous from non-cancerous salivary gland tumors. About 30 adults with a salivary gland lesion will get a special MRI before any treatment. The goal is to improve treatment planning and avoid unnecessary procedures. No drugs or invasive procedures are involved.
