MRI-Guided radiation aims to zap tricky lung tumors safely
NCT ID NCT04925583
Summary
This early-stage study is testing whether using an MRI machine to guide radiation treatment can allow doctors to safely deliver higher, more effective doses to lung tumors located dangerously close to major airways or the esophagus. The goal is to find the highest radiation dose that does not cause severe side effects, with the hope of better controlling these difficult-to-treat tumors. Up to 38 adult patients with this specific type of 'ultracentral' lung tumor will participate.
