MRI-Guided radiation aims to zap tough lung tumors safely

NCT ID NCT04925583

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether using MRI guidance can allow doctors to safely deliver higher, more effective doses of targeted radiation to lung tumors located very close to critical structures like the windpipe and esophagus. Up to 38 adults with these 'ultracentral' lung tumors will receive the MRI-guided radiation treatment. The main goal is to find the highest dose that does not cause severe side effects, balancing tumor control with patient safety.
