First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study compares two FDA-approved drugs, moxidectin and ivermectin, to see which is better at reducing river blindness and other parasitic infections when given yearly to entire communities in Angola. Over 52,000 people will take part, and researchers will track infection rates, parasite levels, and transmission by blackflies. The goal is to find the most effective strategy for eliminating these diseases.
