First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study tested a program called MOVIN that encourages older adults (65+) to walk more while in the hospital. The goal was to prevent loss of function and reduce hospital readmissions. Researchers measured walking speed, daily living skills, and how far patients could move around after they went home. The program involved nurses and all patients on the unit, not just those in the study.
