Blackberry mouthwash vs. chlorhexidine: a surprising gum disease remedy?

NCT ID NCT07540624

First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests if a blackberry mouthwash works as well as a standard medicated mouthwash (chlorhexidine) for treating gum disease. About 48 adults with gum disease will get standard deep cleaning and then use one of the mouthwashes or just the cleaning alone. Researchers will check gum health, inflammation, and bacteria levels over 3 months to see which approach works best.
