First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tested whether a new mouthwash (MicroRepair ABX) works as well as the standard chlorhexidine mouthwash for treating gingivitis, a reversible gum inflammation caused by plaque. Forty adults with gingivitis received professional teeth cleaning and then used one of the two mouthwashes twice daily for 14 days. Researchers measured gum bleeding, plaque levels, and a saliva marker of inflammation over 6 months to compare the treatments.
