First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding mental practice (motor imagery) to standard trunk control exercises helps stroke survivors improve their posture, balance, and walking ability. Thirty people who had a stroke 3 to 6 months earlier participated. Results suggest that imagining the movements alongside physical training may offer extra benefits for regaining control and stability.
