New drug may unmask hidden leukemia cells in blood tests

NCT ID NCT07392970

First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests whether a single injection of motixafortide can help reveal leftover leukemia cells (measurable residual disease, or MRD) in the blood of people with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) who have finished their first round of chemotherapy. Ten participants will receive the drug and have blood samples compared before and after injection. The goal is to see if the drug improves detection of hidden disease, not to treat the leukemia itself.
