Can a simple talk therapy boost recovery for spinal injury patients?
NCT ID NCT07364773
Summary
This study is testing whether training physical and occupational therapists in a counseling style called motivational interviewing helps people with spinal cord injuries participate more actively in their rehabilitation sessions. Researchers will compare the progress of about 180 patients whose therapists receive this special training against those whose therapists do not. The goal is to see if better participation during therapy leads to greater functional improvements and better community integration after patients leave the hospital.
