Can a simple talk technique supercharge spinal cord injury recovery?
NCT ID NCT07364773
Summary
This study is testing whether training physical and occupational therapists in a counseling style called motivational interviewing helps people with spinal cord injuries participate more actively in their rehabilitation sessions. Researchers will compare patients whose therapists receive this special training to those whose therapists do not, looking at how engaged patients are during therapy, their functional abilities at discharge, and how well they integrate back into the community six months later. The goal is to see if better communication from therapists leads to better effort and long-term results for patients.
