Study probes why pain relief fails in sickle cell crisis
NCT ID NCT07246265
Summary
This study aims to understand why standard morphine doses often fail to relieve severe pain in adults with sickle cell disease during a crisis. Researchers will measure how quickly patients' kidneys filter morphine to see if faster filtration leads to underdosing. The goal is to create personalized dosing guidelines to provide better pain control for these patients in the intensive care unit.
